Standard Equity Compensation
  • Liquid Equity Strategy (RSUs/ESPP): Strategic evaluation of your RSU income and guidance on optimal ESPP approach.

  • Private Employer Stock (ISOs/NSOs): Assessment and strategizing around ISO/NSO grants to help maximize value, while balancing lifestyle needs vs allocation to building your position in your employer stock.

  • Tax & Cash Flow: Proactive planning to mitigate tax liabilities, including addressing RSU under-withholding issues or estimating the total cost to exercise private options so you are financially prepared.

  • Active Tax Management: Continuous, year-round tracking of your total tax liability vs. shortfall to manage estimated payments, prevent underpayment penalties, and eliminate large cash-flow surprises in April.

Includes everything in Standard, plus:

  • Concentrated Stock Strategy: Systematic planning to de-risk large public positions.

  • Liquidity Event Guidance: Strategic planning for high-stakes transitions (IPO, M&A, Tender Offers).

  • Options Strategy: Detailed multi-year projections for ISO/NSO exercises, while also analyzing the trade-offs between "Exercise & Hold" (for capital gains tax treatment) vs. AMT exposure to determine your optimal tax "sweet spot" each year.

  • New Grant Triage: Analysis for new job offers or early-stage grants to determine if an 83(b) election/early exercise is appropriate to lock in lower valuations and start the capital gains clock.

Standard Tax
  • Tax-Efficient Savings: Guidance on optimizing contributions across tax-advantaged accounts (e.g., HSA, FSA, 401k) to proactively lower your current year tax liability.

  • Strategic Asset Location: Implementation of a location strategy to place specific assets in the most tax-efficient accounts (e.g., holding high-growth assets in Roth and bonds in tax-deferred) to maximize after-tax returns over the long term.

 Includes everything in Standard, plus:

  • Advanced Roth Strategy: Execution of Backdoor Roth IRAs and Mega Backdoor Roth strategy (when available) to maximize after-tax retirement savings. Strategic evaluation of converting pre-tax assets to Roth during lower-income years (e.g., sabbatical, between jobs) to lock in lower tax rates on your lifetime wealth.

  • Tax-Loss Harvesting: Active monitoring of taxable accounts to harvest losses during market dips, creating a "tax asset" that can offset future portfolio gains.

SWP Does It For You
Investment Management

(Model Portfolio Based)
  • Ongoing Management: Management of your investment portfolios is outsourced to SWP and tailored to your unique situation. Client assets are required to be moved to our third-party custodial platform, Altruist, for management duties. Click here to learn more about what that means. Clients unable to move accounts can opt for our project-based plans shown at the bottom of https://www.simplifywealthplanning.com/services-and-pricing

  • Efficiency-Oriented: We largely utilize low-cost ETFs to maximize efficiency and minimize product fees.

  • Tax Focus: Incorporates tax-efficient strategies to maximize after-tax returns, including tax-loss harvesting, asset location, tax-aware portfolio transitions, etc.

  • Note: Outsourcing investment management to SWP assumes adherence to our proprietary investment approach (our "model portfolios"). While clients may request additional customization outside of our approach, such custom modifications may command additional fees. Any additional fees will be discussed with clients in advance.
